Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Aquatics Director, the Water Safety Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment for all YMCA members and participants in aquatic settings.

This role includes acting as a shift leader in the absence of the Aquatics Director, necessitating the ability to identify and address hazardous situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise swimmers and mitigate potential dangers
- Educate members on water safety practices
- Enforce facility rules and regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Provide swim instruction and assistance as required

This is a full-time hourly position, comprising 25-30 hours per week dedicated to direct programming, along with additional administrative responsibilities within the department. The role involves assisting the Aquatics Director with program execution, staff training and development, member engagement, and promotional activities.

Position Specifics:
Compensation: $17 - $19 per hour
Full-time position with a schedule based on swim lesson terms and departmental needs, including weekend and late afternoon/evening shifts.

Required Certifications:
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED
- First Aid Certification
- Swim Lesson Certification (Red Cross WSI or YMCA) or equivalent experience preferred

Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Demonstrated lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Effective communication skills with diverse community groups
- Minimum of three years of experience in coaching, lifeguarding, or swim instruction
- At least two years of supervisory experience
