Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Wiring Fabricator to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As an Electrical Wiring Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and testing electrical wiring and harnesses for aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble electrical wiring and harnesses for aircraft systems
  • Set up and operate automated wire processing machines to number, cut, strip, lug, and process wire
  • Assemble and wire aircraft electrical, radio, and radar units, including main junction and terminal boxes, main engine disconnect plug, main control, switch panels, radio panels, and instrument panels
  • Complete hookup of wiring, flexes, and cables, and troubleshoot electrical and radio assemblies with multiple interconnected units and accessories
  • Form and run harnesses, break out and terminate wiring to terminal points, and make continuity checks of assemblies and harnesses
  • Determine sequence of operations, disassemble aircraft electrical connectors and accessories, remove layers of insulating and conducting materials, cut and tin wires, solder wires and inter-connecting units, reassemble connectors, and make continuity checks
  • Perform rework operations, including disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling electrical connectors and accessories
  • Set up automated wire processing machines using authorized production documents, machine operating instructions, and setup charts
  • Load specified work materials, including wire, terminals, lugs, and tape, and install cutting and stripping blades
  • Adjust controls on wire numbering units to obtain clear and legible imprints of numbers on wires, and operate machines to fabricate completely numbered, cut, lugged, and coiled wires
  • Correct machine stoppages and minor malfunctions by replacing depleted work materials, unsnarling wires, and removing defective materials
  • Check and count completed wires to ensure compliance with production work orders, specifications, and quantity check lists, and sort into specified group and harness assembly number order
  • Tie and label wire bundles for routing to other areas, and perform duties of the wiring fabricator classification as required
  • Assist electrical and electronic mechanics as needed
Requirements
  • 6 months of electrical wire harness fabrication, electrical assembly experience, and/or wire routing
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and production illustrations, and use arithmetic including decimals and fractions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
Desired Skills
  • Prior electrical background in commercial, industrial, or military environments
  • Experience with automated wire processing machines and wire numbering units
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment
