Responsibilities
Open Sky Career Services employs a wrap-around service model that emphasizes high-level collaboration, coordination, and communication with all partners serving individuals receiving support through Competitive Integrated Employment Services. Our mission is to assist job seekers in establishing employment goals and securing meaningful, sustained employment.
Career Counselors adhere to the guidelines and components of the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model to help individuals stabilize their employment and achieve successful outcomes. They also aid individuals in identifying integrated employment opportunities tailored to their Career Plan based on their interests, skills, abilities, and needs.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with MassAbility and the Department of Transitional Assistance to establish individuals' employment and/or educational goals.
- Assess individuals' vocational readiness by developing relevant skills, including job application completion, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- Represent Open Sky in meetings with funders related to work responsibilities and support for individuals served.
- Assist individuals in accessing and understanding their benefits such as SSI, SSDI, and others, and how these may impact their employment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field is highly preferred.
- Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities (including behavioral health challenges) is required.
- Ability to work independently with proven time and task management skills is required.
- Comfortable using technology for documentation and organization.
