Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pediatric Nursing Specialist, working on a Per Diem basis for the Night Shift at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision making related to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care based on established NYU Langone Health Patient Care and Nursing Standards.
  • Formulate the initial plan of care with the provider physician or nurse practitioner and collaborate with them to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Prioritize care based on data collected and document assessment and reassessment in medical records.
  • Implement interventions in the coordination of patient care in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner and apply escalation processes.
  • Cultivate effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify realistic and measurable outcomes.
  • Determine learning needs of patients and families, implement an educational plan, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to modify expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient progress towards expected outcomes, involve patients and families, and recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Comply with unit-based and organizational professional standards, regulatory requirements, and annual education mandates.
  • Serve as a support and resource for nursing staff and students, engage in self-assessment and peer review, and utilize resources to meet individual learning needs and promote professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $96,000-$101,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
