Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Services X-Ray Position

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Services team at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining radiographic equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain medical history and interpret physicians' orders
- Position and transfer patients on/off the radiographic table, utilizing proper body mechanics
- Assist with patient and procedure room preparation, positioning and adjusting equipment according to procedure specifications
- Explain components of procedures to patients, observe and monitor patients throughout procedures, and advise physicians of any abnormal indicators
- Perform procedures to produce optimal diagnostic images, under supervision, and maintain sterile fields during procedures
- Determine the best method of obtaining optimal diagnostic images, select and modify technical factors, and adjust technique as necessary
- Administer contrast media and/or medications, under supervision
- Assist with post-procedure clean-up, maintain and clean all equipment, and review, label, format, and process diagnostic images after capturing
- Utilize health information systems to navigate patient records, input, retrieve, and maintain information in patient records, and verify accurate completion of patient records following procedures
- Current/valid registration and certification in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current/valid accreditation as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
- Current/Valid American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
