About the Role

The Intake Clinician is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for facilitating admissions, clinical intake assessments, and prior authorization processes to ensure the most appropriate level of care for patients. This role requires strong interpersonal and interviewing skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and external parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate intake, admission, and prior authorization processes for incoming patients
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications and disseminate information to patients, families, and internal staff
  • Provide accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status in the admission and prior authorization process
  • Collaborate with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions
  • Perform ongoing assessments of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs of patients and implement crisis intervention and referral
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health, or a related field
  • One or more years' experience in mental/behavioral health working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity
  • Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments, and utilization
  • Current licensure, as required for the area of clinical specialty
