Job Summary

Walgreens is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a patient-centric role. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including the performance of various pharmacy department duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the use of pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
  • Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, and filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
  • Report, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
  • Process (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required.
Requirements
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
