Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our Warehouse Team at Newly Weds Foods in Broadview, IL. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, or stack materials in our warehouse region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Move or transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
- Quality Control: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Reporting: Report quantity variances and any damage to racks or equipment.
- Organization: Organize and secure stored materials, such as cases, boxes, raw materials, pallets, etc.
- Loading and Unloading: Load or unload materials manually, off or on pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
- Maintenance: Perform routine post and pre-inspections to ensure the suitable working nature of forklift equipment.
- Communication: Report to supervisor regarding any safety hazards or damage to equipment.
- Teamwork: Consult, work, and coordinate with supervisors and other team members regarding loading operations.
- Additional Responsibilities: Scan all materials being transferred using the RF System, complete forklift operator training, and maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Safety and GMP Objectives:
- Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Comply with established policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Operate Equipment Safely: Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Comply with Regulations: Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- Ability to Recognize Unsafe Acts and Conditions: Recognize and report unsafe acts and conditions in the facility.
- Ability to Complete Paperwork: Complete all necessary paperwork related to specific job functions.
- Annual Training: Complete all annual training requirements.
- Incident Reporting: Report all incidents, even those that do not warrant treatment.
Additional Requirements:
- Review and Execute Food Safety Plan: Review and execute our Food Safety Plan to provide value to our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products.
- Adhere to GMPs: Adhere to good manufacturing practices, including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming, and hygiene.
