Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Delivery Associate to join our team at State Electric Supply Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a DOT-regulated 26' box truck to deliver products to customers
  • Perform pre-trip safety checks on the vehicle to ensure road readiness
  • Load and secure cargo using chains and binders, and re-check stability throughout trips
  • Inspect trailers before and after loading, and adjust air lines and jack positions as necessary
  • Visit weigh stations to ensure loads meet state safety regulations, and make alterations as required
  • Contribute to company data by recording delivery times and hours worked
  • Assist in unloading cargo at delivery sites, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
  • Adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances, and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and distributing to sales associates for processing
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence
  • File requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items, and distribute items to shipping or designated route driver storage area
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
  • Assemble customer orders from stock, and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
  • Mark materials with identifying information using an appropriate method
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via an appropriate computer program
  • Assist in counting physical inventory
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments
  • Prepare parcels for mailing
  • Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness
  • Wear the proper safety equipment
Requirements
  • Two years of experience working as a driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Enthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on time
  • Physical strength necessary to lift heavy boxes and crates, and move them around the warehouse
  • Ability to maintain the stamina needed for long hours of physical labor
  • Strong work ethic, professional attitude, and reliability
  • Excellent communication skills to all levels of internal and external customers
  • Well-organized and a self-starter
  • Ability to make decisions and be independent
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Quick learner, great at building relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
  • Adequate knowledge of warehouse data systems
