The Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift Facility Maintenance Lead. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance and repair operations, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to and maximizing equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of skilled maintenance professionals, offering guidance and troubleshooting support for various plant equipment and machinery, including PLCs, VFDs, Servos, and HMIs.
- Engage directly in repairs and installations while effectively coordinating with the maintenance team.
- Provide daily direction to the maintenance workforce, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently.
- Review and collaborate on planning and scheduling with the maintenance manager.
- Conduct audits to guarantee the quality of work performed by maintenance personnel.
- Communicate and schedule maintenance activities in alignment with operational needs.
- Assess the qualifications of maintenance technicians and recommend training and development opportunities as necessary.
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and supplies.
- Oversee technician schedules and timecards.
- Supervise the preventative maintenance program for various manufacturing equipment.
- Minimize equipment downtime through effective corrective and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Lead and assist with capital improvement projects throughout the facility.
- Supervise the installation and electrical setup of new or relocated machinery.
- Assist with mechanical repairs across the facility and on machinery.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose equipment issues and identify root causes.
- Project management skills and technical reading proficiency.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge and experience with PLCs, as well as digital and analog sensors.
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience with ammonia and boiler systems is advantageous.
- Union experience is a plus.
- Experience in food facility maintenance is preferred.
