Job Description:
Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement social-emotional learning strategies and interventions to support student success
Provide behavioral support to students exhibiting at-risk behaviors, including developing and implementing individualized behavioral intervention plans
Work with students, parents, and staff to identify and address barriers to student success, including developing and implementing strategies to improve student engagement and motivation
Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to provide support and services to students and families
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in social-emotional learning and behavioral support
Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to promote social-emotional learning and student success
Collaborate with other school staff to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, including academic achievement and social-emotional well-being
Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families as needed
Participate in school-wide meetings and committees to contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or other school administrators
Master's degree in school social work with a school certification and relative licensure
2+ years of experience working in a school setting, preferably in a social-emotional learning or behavioral support role
Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning theories and practices, including restorative practices and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
Ability to analyze data and develop strategies to improve student outcomes
Strong problem-solving and crisis intervention skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and professional growth and development
Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required
