We are seeking a CAD Designer who will leverage computer-aided design software to develop intricate three-dimensional models across various industries, including automotive, manufacturing, and product innovation. The CAD Designer will transform conceptual ideas into digital representations, paving the way for the creation of physical prototypes and subsequent full-scale production.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Weiss-Aug product development teams and clients to refine product designs.
- Design prototype tooling and supporting devices for metal and insert-molded development initiatives.
- Assist in the creation of pre-production progressive dies tailored to meet initial product volume requirements.
- Engage directly with clients and suppliers to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Support prototyping activities on the tool-room floor, preparing and staging parts for projects under your ownership.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Proficient in standard office software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tooling and/or manufacturing environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with 2D and solid modeling CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Comfortable operating CAD-related equipment, including plotters and quality assurance tools.
- Adept at collaborating across multiple disciplines, including tool design and manufacturing personnel.
- A proactive approach to participating in hands-on development on the tool-room floor.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
