Job Overview

At R&R Family of Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, auditing paperwork, verifying pricing information, and facilitating payments to carriers.

Responsibilities
  • Billing Audits: Conduct thorough audits of bills of lading, invoices, and other relevant documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Pricing Verification: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to verify pricing information and ensure that billing reflects accurate rates for services provided.
  • Carrier Payments: Process carrier payments accurately and promptly, maintaining clear communication channels to address any payment discrepancies or issues.
  • Data Entry: Input and maintain billing data into the company's financial systems, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurately recorded.
  • Documentation Management: Organize and maintain records of billing transactions, supporting documentation, and payment history in an organized and easily accessible manner.
  • Issue Resolution: Address any inquiries or concerns related to billing and payments from carriers, internal teams, and external partners in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on billing and payment activities, providing insights to management and contributing to operational decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve billing and payment processes, suggesting enhancements to existing procedures for increased efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the billing and payment process.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in billing, auditing, or financial roles, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong mathematical skills and comfort working with numbers, calculations, and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience using financial software or billing systems.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and propose effective solutions.
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to work within a team to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of ethics and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes, technologies, and industry practices.
