Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Manager to join our team at Vestis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all plant machinery, managing a staff of maintenance mechanics, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance of all plant machinery, including compressed air systems, heat reclaimers, boilers, HVAC systems, water softeners, electrical systems, and other equipment.
  • Manage a staff of maintenance mechanics, including recruiting, selecting, hiring, developing, and educating technicians.
  • Coach and develop maintenance technicians to improve their performance and ensure they meet established goals.
  • Create and implement time-effective work schedules to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Maintain and repair or replace equipment as necessary, and perform basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
  • Order necessary parts, tools, and equipment in a timely manner, following company policies.
  • Maintain a complement of critical spares on the shelf for plant equipment and ensure parts inventory matches records.
  • Perform root cause analysis for abnormal conditions or failures, and take corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Track utility consumption data, prepare reports, and circulate them for management review, proposing corrective actions or solutions to control costs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with equipment suppliers to resolve plant equipment-related issues.
  • Maintain satisfactory market center targets for cost controls and downtime.
  • Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with equipment manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Support an environment of continuous improvement by making and implementing suggestions.
  • Drive company action plans and hold mechanics accountable for executing against those plans.
  • Maintain close coordination with the production department to resolve equipment breakdowns and other production-related opportunities.
  • Through implementation and execution of company safety initiatives, create an environment where safety is a primary concern.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting market center operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance work experience.
  • 2 years of prior management experience preferred.
  • Two-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license.

Employees are eligible for 80 hours of vacation, 40 hours of floating holidays, and paid sick time every year. Employees will also receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission.
