Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med Surg

HCA MidAmerica Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Lees Summit, Missouri.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."

You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

About the Unit:

The 16-bed unit where you will be working has a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, providing a supportive and collaborative environment.

The patient population includes Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, GYN Surgeries, bladder spleens, hysterectomies, general surgeries, gall bladders, urinary stint placements, and more.

The unit is Joint Commission-certified for Total Hip and Knee, and you will have the opportunity to work with a team that promotes positivity and accountability.

You will also have the chance to pursue certification in Orthopedics after 2 years and sit in on surgeries with physicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the general direction of the Director, Manager, or Nurse Manager, you will coordinate and provide patient care and assume individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care.
  • You will provide nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.
Requirements:
  • A.D.N or BSN degree preferred.
  • Must have a current MO RN license upon hire or a current multistate RN license.
  • BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 90 days of hire and annually within the fiscal year.
