Job Summary:The Senior Veterinary Technician will be responsible for conducting initial exams, taking vital signs, drawing blood, collecting specimens, and gathering medical histories. You will also be responsible for calming and soothing patients, safely restraining, transporting, and handling patients, and preparing patients for treatments and procedures.

- Providing emergency first aid and monitoring critical patients

- Preparing equipment for surgical procedures and cleaning and organizing treatment and examination rooms
- Educating clients and owners on treatment plans, behavior changes, feeding, exercise, and overall wellness for their animals
- Participating in teaching veterinary students and assisting with research activities
- Graduation from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program
- Licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Missouri, or eligibility to obtain Missouri licensure within 6 months after start date
- At least 5 years of experience in a general veterinary practice or 3 years in a progressive specialty or Veterinary Teaching Hospital
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
- Continuous learning and professional growth and development mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, constituents, and clients
- Keen understanding of animal behavior and strong clinical skills to properly evaluate a patient's condition
- Detailed-oriented and well-organized to take medical histories, carry out instructions, document patient statistics, and update records
