Job Title: Structural Engineer

About the Role:

In this position, you will use your technical knowledge to evaluate existing buildings and design solutions for our clients' complex and unique problems. Projects will include a mix of residential, multi-family, and commercial projects, with an emphasis on repair of damage from fire, wind, flood, and impacts, as well as adaptive reuse of older buildings and enhancements to existing facilities to accommodate changes in use and implementation of equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of as-built drawings from existing buildings.
  • Performance evaluations of the structural systems in existing, sometimes damaged, buildings.
  • Creating required drawings and specifications using your knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Research building code (historical and current) and any associated code upgrades that should apply.
  • Field assessment to include working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, and rooftops.
  • Conduct investigations and conditions assessments to determine appropriate repair of damaged and/or poorly performing structural systems.
  • Complete design assignments related to upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of existing buildings.
Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree required.
  • Professional Engineering, P.E. required (Structural license appreciated).
  • 4+ years of structural design experience.
  • AutoCAD proficiency required - Building Information Modeling (BIM) proficiency is appreciated.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a must.

The Salary Range for this position is $85,000.00 to $125,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location, and certifications/licensure.

This position requires up to 25% to 50% local/regional travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
