We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nutrition Counselor to join our team at Children's National Health System. As a Nutrition Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing health screening, basic nutrition education, and referrals for healthcare and other services to our WIC clients.

• Conduct health screenings and provide basic nutrition education to non-high-risk participants
• Screen the health and nutritional status of participants, identify and assess health risks
• Provide referrals as appropriate and identified during the screening process
• Document notes for all contacts made with WIC participants
• Issue food benefits in accordance with DC WIC State Agency policy

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of working at a WIC clinic providing nutrition to clients
• Completed DC Health required Competent Paraprofessional Authority training and observation
• Ability to document counseling notes
• Basic computer skills and detail-oriented

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 months of working in Community Nutrition related field or Dietetic internship
• Ability to provide individual and group nutrition counseling
