Job Description: Federal Tax Senior Associate

As a Federal Tax Senior Associate, you will be part of a dynamic engagement team delivering various federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry-specific clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tax compliance and advisory services to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and corporations ranging from middle market to multinational companies.
  • Participating in tax research projects on various tax issues, drafting IRS responses, and addressing other tax authority inquiries.
  • Teamwork with leaders on special projects in areas of corporate and flow-through taxation such as accounting methods and ASC740.
  • Developing recommendations for clients to consider and sharing with leadership to discuss and strategize.
  • Communicating and teaming with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives areas.

You will have opportunities to learn and grow from direct on-the-job coaching and mentoring, participating in firm-wide learning and development programs, utilizing your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and with clients, and supporting the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a related degree in business, with sufficient course work and credits to sit for the CPA and/or Bar exam in the state you are being considered. Preferred qualifications include a CPA or JD license, two (2)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm, and demonstrated skills in time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem-solving.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on location and qualifications. Please note that salaries may vary based on individual circumstances.
