Surgical Assistant

The Queen's Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a key member of the perioperative team, the RNFA will play a critical role in assisting surgeons during operations, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- The RNFA will work closely with surgeons to control bleeding, provide wound exposure, and perform other critical surgical tasks.
- They will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment during procedures, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- In addition, the RNFA will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- A current Hawaii state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduate of a formal first assist program.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CNOR certification.
- The RNFA will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure patient safety.
- They may be exposed to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols.
- The role requires excellent physical stamina, as the RNFA will be required to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the day.
