Dietary Aide Position at Springvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our Food Service Department at Springvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of meal preparation and service for our residents, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and service of meals for residents, staff, and families, adhering to strict sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Food Service Department, including the kitchen, dining areas, and storage facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Food Service Director, Supervisor, Dietitian, and Cook to ensure seamless operations and achieve our goal of providing exceptional customer service.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent, with a strong emphasis on culinary arts or a related field.
  • Prior experience in institutional food service is preferred, but not necessary. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray tickets, and work assignments with ease.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and family members.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk continuously throughout the day, with the ability to lift and carry 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including emergency situations, and maintain a patient and tolerant attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout the day, with frequent reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, and manipulating various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment.
  • Work with chemicals and cleaning agents, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Exposure to temperature and humidity changes, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
