Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Aide. This role involves shelving returned books and materials, maintaining shelved books in correct order, and performing end-of-day straightening on each floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shelve returned books and materials in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain shelved books in correct order, ensuring easy access for patrons
  • Perform end-of-day straightening on each floor to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Handle routine aspects of behind-the-scenes processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a good public service orientation and handle constant contact with the public
  • Push carts filled with books and bend and stretch as needed
  • Take direction and carry out instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently on assigned tasks
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

This is a non-career position with a variable schedule of 12-19 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
