Engen Contracting, Inc. specializes in constructing robust commercial structures, typically ranging from one and a half to ten million dollars per project. Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Procore software effectively.
  • Participate in pre-construction and project closeout processes.
  • Regularly monitor project budgets and conduct forecasting.
  • Review project plans and specifications to provide insightful feedback on design, scheduling, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist the estimating team in finalizing project budgets.
  • Prepare the general conditions budget.
  • Communicate confidently with peers and stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
  • Ensure timely submission and review of shop drawings and necessary approvals.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, identifying areas needing attention.
  • Provide weekly updates for Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings and facilitate these discussions.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or omissions in the Consultant's construction documents.
  • Expedite Requests for Information (RFIs) and Change Orders (COs) while maintaining logs.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Oversee independent testing and inspections as required.
  • Issue monthly progress draws and invoices to clients and consultants.
  • Uphold high construction standards and practices.
  • Manage the security and operation of job site equipment in collaboration with the site superintendent.
  • Control and monitor labor, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Ensure that 'as-built' drawings are prepared during construction and finalized for closeout submission.
  • Ensure all required municipal inspections are completed.
  • Address project deficiencies promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet job requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager in new construction and interior tenant improvements for commercial and industrial projects.
  • A degree in a construction-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology, scheduling, and planning.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • No tolerance for alcohol or drugs in the workplace.
  • Successful background checks and drug tests are required for employment.
  • Engen Contracting conducts personality assessments to ensure cultural fit within our team.
  • Field personnel and some office-based staff must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • This position aims to foster a long-term relationship within the company.
  • This is not a traveling position.
