We are seeking a highly skilled UD Associate to join our team at Aerotek. As a UD Associate, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating Uni-Directional (UD) textile machines to meet quality and production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Startup, operation, clean up, and shut down of UD machines and other equipment and processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Stage material through barcoding, labels, and maintain accurate inventories during runs.
- Customize basic equipment settings following customer and/or product requirements.
- Follow precise test procedures based on specification and customer requirements as outlined in control documents.
- Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements.
- Operate hoist and pallet jack and maintain daily inspections.
- Use technology (ERP system/MS Office) to determine material and product specifications and enter production and quality data.
- Visually inspect product to ensure fabric produced meets all specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems with equipment/devices, pulling in support as needed.
- Raise NCR's for non-conforming materials and work with Quality/Engineering to identify and implement resolutions.
- Package, label, and place finished products on skids, bands, etc., ready for shipping.
- Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors.
- Ensure 5S and lean philosophies are practiced and sustained in daily activities.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean, maintained, and in excellent condition for the next shift.
- Promote a safe environment and address unsafe issues immediately.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing production environment.
- Precise manual dexterity.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to speak and read instructions in English.
- Basic knowledge of computers and data input systems.
This is a fully on-site position in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina. The work environment is a manufacturing setting with moderate to high noise levels. Personalized protective equipment is provided. Continuous periods of standing and walking are required. Considerable lifting and loading (with assistance of appropriate tools and machines) is necessary. May include cutting and the use of sharp tools.
