Piano Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Piano Instructor to join our team at MacPhail Center for Music. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and the ability to teach students of varying levels, with a focus on engaging young beginners.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual piano lessons to students of all ages and skill levels
• Develop and maintain a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students and families
• Manage studio and group classes, including recruitment, lesson planning, and scheduling
• Participate in department meetings and contribute to the overall mission of MacPhail Center for Music

Requirements

• A degree or certification in music or music education
• Minimum of three years of piano studio teaching experience, with a significant portion working with young beginners
• Effective communication and cultural competency skills

Work Environment

The Piano Instructor will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development. The position requires frequent sitting, repetitive wrist motion, and grasping/pinching, as well as occasional lifting and standing.
