Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures to obtain high-quality images for diagnosis by radiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation and Imaging: Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including entering patient data into our electronic health record system and positioning patients on the procedure table.
  • Image Acquisition and Processing: Operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images, including adjusting exposure factors and imaging settings as needed.
  • Assistance during Procedures: Assist interventional radiologists during procedures, handling sterile equipment as needed and monitoring exposure factors and fluoro time.
  • Image Management and Quality Control: Verify images in our picture archiving and communication system (PACS) to ensure accuracy and quality, and maintain adherence to imaging workflow in our radiology information system (RIS).
  • Record Keeping and Radiation Safety: Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures, including films, fluoro time, and injections, and adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Training and Education: Train other associates and students in imaging procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in radiologic technology or related field.
  • Certification: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the State of New York.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in radiologic technology, with knowledge of special procedure/angiographic systems, radiographic exposure equipment, and PACS.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in radiologic and medical terms.
