Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Equipment Operator to join our team at King Nut Companies. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating form, fill, and seal packaging equipment to produce high-quality packages according to specification and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, understand, and follow product specification sheets and production schedules to ensure accurate and efficient packaging.
  • Set up and operate packaging machines according to specification, ensuring proper functioning and minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate with the mixer to ensure timely delivery of edible products according to schedule.
  • Apply labels and/or printing to bags according to specification, ensuring accurate and consistent application.
  • Inspect packages for quality, integrity, and compliance with specifications.
  • Package bags into cartons, label, and/or print on cartons according to specification.
  • Verify case weight of finished product according to specification.
  • Seal cartons and stack on pallets according to specification.
  • Properly label finished boxes and pallets.
  • Move finished product to designated staging area.
  • Return unused packaging materials to assigned location in inventory and cover with plastic.
  • Promptly notify management of exceptions to standard and machine problems.
  • Accurately complete daily production reports according to guidelines.
  • Promptly report to management for work assignments during machine downtime.
  • Keep assigned work area and equipment clean.
  • Direct and train assigned personnel.
  • Understand and follow quality sign-off procedures, safety procedures, and food safety and quality issues.
  • Thoroughly understand how to properly clean and sanitize all retail production equipment.
  • Know and follow all GMPs.
  • Obtain all proper QA and QC checks and sign-offs required before starting production.
  • Perform any and all additional duties as required by supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of packaging equipment and processes, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will also need to be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
