Cardiac Echocardiographer

Job Summary:

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to perform M-Mode and Cardiac Doppler echocardiogram studies and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ultrasound technology and excellent communication skills to provide explanation to patients regarding the test being performed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients for echocardiogram studies
• Performs transthoracic echocardiographic examinations to determine the best modalities, techniques, and approaches to apply
• Evaluates echocardiographic findings to recognize normal and complex congenital and pathologic conditions
• Calculates echocardiograph/Doppler data, including M-Mode quantification, ejection fraction, and Doppler calculation of valve gradients
• Requests MD and RN administration of echo contrast when necessary
• Maintains current educational status and mentors with assigned physician preceptor to enhance clinical skills
• Enters data into clinical system and transmits data
• Maintains, cleans, and fully equipped and stocked examination area for patients

Requirements:

• Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound program
• ARDMS certification preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with patients
• Standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling when needed
