About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Imaging Specialist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiographic examinations on patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Operate all radiographic imaging equipment associated with Special Procedures, Computed Tomography, and General Diagnostic, including image intensifiers, monitors, injectors, and angiographic tables.
  • Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality, according to written protocols and patient needs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to support personnel in the absence of a supervisor, delegating responsibility as appropriate.
  • Coordinate breaks and meal times, assist in orientation of staff technologists, and allocate work to technologists.
  • Prepare patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes, assist in preparation of sterile surgical instruments and supplies, and explain procedures to patients.
  • Load and program contrast media power injectors, prepare and administer oral and IV contrast media, and operate specialized imaging equipment.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and orderliness, ensuring compliance with infection control and departmental standards.
  • Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists, scan patient documents, and employ radiation protection measures.
  • Perform quality assurance procedures and prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees.
  • Ensure all studies are completed in IDX (Radiology Information System) in a timely fashion, accurately recording patient tracking information and scheduling exams as required.
