About the Position
Haverford College is seeking a highly skilled Groundskeeper to join our facilities team. As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our campus grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks such as litter pick-up, trash removal, cleaning of storm drains and curbs, raking and removal of leaves, removal of snow and application of ice control materials, setting up chairs and bleachers for special events, and clearing brush
- Operate basic power equipment and tools, such as small tractors, lawnmowers, string trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, wood chippers, walk-behind blowers, and chainsaws
- Apply fertilizers by hand and push the spreader
- Assist in turf renovation and repair
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in Grounds Maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of landscaping experience
Working Conditions
- This position is considered essential personnel and will be required to work during periods of inclement weather when the College is closed for a weather emergency
