Westgate Resorts is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster - Liability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our risk management department, you will be responsible for managing litigated claims, analyzing reserves, and negotiating settlements.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily operations of litigated claims, including documentation and communication with involved parties.
- Analyze claims data and provide recommendations for handling legal represented claims.
- Collaborate with defense counsel and VP of Risk Management to develop strategic plans and negotiate damage settlements.
- Conduct thorough investigations of claims, including gathering and reviewing medical information.
- Present files in round table format to obtain settlement authority and negotiate settlements.
- Identify potential subrogation opportunities and coordinate with insurance carriers and agencies.
- Assist in preparation for hearings and appeals with defense counsel.
- 5 years of experience in liability claims handling, with a valid Florida adjuster's license.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively manage litigation.
- Strong understanding of claims handling practices, policy language, exclusions, and ISO forms.
