As an Infusion Coordinator at PMC, you will play a vital role in the patient experience, acting as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Your responsibilities will include greeting and instructing patients, verifying and updating necessary information, and completing practice management system work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring HIPAA, Financial Policy, Insurance Information, Release of Information, and Notice of Privacy Practices are completed by patients
- Advising patients on financial obligations, including co-payments, deductible amounts, and insurance eligibility
- Performing insurance eligibility requirements and reviewing patient charts to ensure necessary labs have been completed
- Completing plan-specific denial criteria and obtaining clinician signatures
- Coordinating drug acquisition, delivery, and storage with patients and specialty pharmacies
- Maintaining electronic medical record documentation and notifying patients of needed lab work and documentation
- Working on carrier-specific authorization reports and monitoring status for patient approval of drug administration
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of physicians, their specialties, and medical practices
- Maintaining patient and practice confidentiality
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to two years of experience in a medical office setting preferred
