At Synopsys, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of our PCBA and unit-level assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and develop manufacturing methods to improve product quality and reduce costs.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, space requirements planning, and optimizing equipment layout.
- Provide decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Assist R&D and contract manufacturers with prototype builds, including Surface Mount, wave, post-solder operations, chassis assembly, and quality control.
- Prepare product and method reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complete design and development projects by training and guiding assemblers.
- Work hands-on with manufacturing assembly to define, monitor, and improve operational activities and outputs.
- Review defects to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure workmanship standards meet IPC 610 / J-STD criteria.
- Audit shop floor documentation, assembly instructions, and special instructions such as on-the-job training.
- Introduce Lean Manufacturing concepts when applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar role.
- Experience in root cause analysis and strong mathematical skills, including statistics.
- Proficiency in programming and operating CAD software tools.
- Proven knowledge and experience in the PCBA manufacturing process.
