Ergon, Inc. in Mississippi is currently seeking a skilled Purchasing Expert to join their Corporate Procurement Services Department.

The company is a leading provider of energy and specialty solutions, with operations across the globe. With over 3,000 employees, Ergon owns and operates two petroleum refineries, producing a range of products including gasoline, diesel, lubricants, and asphalts.

This role involves procuring quality goods and services at competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery and accurate invoicing. Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions in SAP, sourcing vendors, and generating purchase orders. The Purchasing Expert will also support proposal efforts, work cross-functionally with various departments, manage vendor relationships, and seek opportunities for cost savings.

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and a minimum of three to five years of experience in procurement or supply chain management. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as knowledge of office, technical, and maintenance supplies and materials.

Key duties include receiving, examining, and processing requisitions, preparing documents related to purchases, and locating sources of supply. You will also need to place orders with vendors, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
