Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and patient education.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Conduct medication use evaluations and implement changes to improve patient safety and quality of care.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff on clinical and operational issues.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy practice, including medication therapy management and patient education.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
