Staff Registered Nurse I

Kaiser Permanente nurses are guided by an integrated nursing model that prioritizes patient-centered care. As a Staff Registered Nurse I, you will practice professional nursing as defined by the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess patient health status, determine nursing diagnoses, establish nursing goals, and develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care.
- Accurately document patient data, actions, interventions, and response to treatment according to established policies and guidelines.
- Assist with procedures and monitor patients' responses during and after the procedure.
- Actively participate in the coordination of patient care and engage patients, families, and caregivers in the process.
- Lead the nursing response to medical emergencies, if indicated.
- Monitor electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and manage the messages or triage them to the appropriate personnel.
- Initiate and monitor IV therapy, administration of medications, and other nursing procedures as prescribed by the physician or associate practitioner.
- Assess patient and family health education needs, provide health teaching and counseling, and evaluate the effectiveness of the education process.
- Conduct outgoing telephone calls to patients requiring follow-up care and preventative outreach.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and departmental orientation and training of new staff.
- Minimum one year of RN clinical experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Bachelors degree in nursing.
