St. Charles Community College is a leading institution in the region, committed to student success and diversity. We are seeking a qualified part-time music faculty member to join our team in the area of private instrumental lessons.

This position involves teaching private lessons, as needed, with the possibility of teaching music courses to music majors and/or non-music majors depending on experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play their instrument and/or prepare students to perform for various departmental needs, such as ensemble concerts, faculty recitals, and commencement ceremonies.

Current Needs Include:

  • Cello Instructor

Qualifications:

  • Teaching and performance skills on their instrument(s)
  • Band, Orchestral, and/or Jazz ensemble experience
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of music
  • Master's degree preferred

Application Requirements:

  • Attach a cover letter, resume/cv, and a copy of transcripts
  • Provide a link to a video submission of a solo performance (with or without an audience)
  • In the absence of a link, email the video submission to the designated contact

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time appointments made on a semester-by-semester basis
  • Online teaching may be required
  • Canvas Training provided by SCC
