Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Inspector to join our Transportation-Construction Management team in Sarasota and Ft Myers, FL. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring contractors on-site construction activities and inspecting materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Maintaining detailed records of contractors daily operations, including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work.
  • Identifying discrepancies and potential issues with work zone traffic control plans and erosion control plans.
  • Performing sampling and testing of component materials and completed work, verifying dimensions of prepared and completed work, and inspecting construction work and conducting field tests.
  • Tracking and measuring completed work quantities for payment and performing survey checks.
  • Managing a team of inspectors, coordinating their schedules, and overseeing their work and records.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and 8+ years of construction experience with 4+ years in roadway/bridge inspection or a Civil Engineering degree and 3 years of road and bridge construction engineering and inspection experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications is essential.
  • A Valid Driver's License with a good driving record is also required.
  • You must be able to obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions, as well as use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Certifications/Credentials:

  • OSHA 10 Hour
  • FDOT Certifications

Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
