Clinical Nurse II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will provide patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Infusion Center, incorporating psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Infusion Center
- Assist in patient research accrual by reviewing patient schedules against available protocols
- Act as a role model to students and Clinical Nurses new to the unit
- Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager
- One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
- Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
- Current chemotherapy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire
- Current California RN license
- Current BLS certification
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians, and others as part of a care team
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements
- Oncology Certification
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
