Position Overview: The Clinical Quality Specialist is tasked with the collection and evaluation of quality metrics, alongside the creation of comprehensive reports for dissemination and review. This role provides essential administrative assistance to the Quality and Risk Management departments, which includes data entry, drafting correspondence, and documenting meeting notes.
Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Performance Improvement.
Essential Skills:
Candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and sound judgment, with the capacity to operate independently. The role requires resilience in high-pressure situations and the ability to respond appropriately. Familiarity with medical records, Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs), and clinical diagnoses is advantageous. A solid understanding of medical terminology is mandatory.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or possess a Compact RN license that includes Virginia, ensuring good standing with the Board of Health Professions.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of two years of experience in an acute care environment is essential, with a preference for backgrounds in critical care or emergency medicine.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in computer applications and software such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, along with expertise in database management.
