Position Summary

As a Hospital Security Officer, your primary responsibility will be to protect and secure a prominent healthcare client. This role involves monitoring the healthcare facility and ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. A Hospital Security Officer is tasked with identifying and preventing suspicious activities, documenting incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service in a courteous and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vigilance for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual occurrences.
  • Conduct patrols on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to identify unsafe conditions, security breaches, and unauthorized individuals.
  • Effectively de-escalate situations verbally and physically when necessary.
  • Inspect security devices and fire safety equipment regularly.
  • Facilitate access control for members, visitors, and employees to ensure smooth entry into the facility.
  • Respond to emergencies including fire, medical crises, bomb threats, flooding, and hazardous materials with a calm and urgent demeanor.
  • Assist with patient escorting, monitoring, and provide safety support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service, conflict resolution, or managing high-pressure situations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed positions; 21 years or older for armed roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
  • Applicants will undergo a background check in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Drug screening may be required as a condition of employment.
  • Licensing requirements may vary based on state and local regulations.
  • Successful completion of training and certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior is required post-offer.
