Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Scheduling and monitoring medication appointments
  • Providing injections and medication administration
  • Assisting doctors with patient care and treatment plans
  • Constructing medication treatment plans and monitoring patient progress
  • Assisting with client chart documentation and recordkeeping
  • Facilitating family support and education for chronically mentally ill clients
  • Monitoring and recording medication side effects
  • Maintaining inventory of medications and supplies
  • Communicating with pharmacies and insurance companies for authorizations
  • Filing lab reports and nursing documentation
  • Co-facilitating medication education groups with doctors
  • Observing clients for movement disorders and neurological symptoms
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Valid Pennsylvania practical nursing license in good standing
  • One year of psychiatric experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting
  • Valid FBI clearance, criminal history check, and child abuse history clearance
  • Participation in and completion of all CBH mandatory in-services
Competencies and Personal Characteristics

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of co-occurring disorders
  • Excellent professional writing and verbal communication skills
