Key Responsibilities:
- Lead traffic engineering design projects, including signal designs and reports.
- Conduct thorough intersection analyses and develop signal timing plans.
- Collaborate with local transportation authorities and municipalities.
- Provide traffic analysis for various highway projects, exploring alternative design solutions such as roundabouts and interchange modifications.
- Coordinate traffic data collection with external partners.
- Participate in safety audits and perform Highway Safety Manual analyses.
- Prepare comprehensive traffic control plans, signing, and pavement marking layouts.
- Mentor junior traffic engineering staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure quality control across all traffic engineering tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Valid PA Professional Engineer license; PTOE certification is preferred.
- 5-15 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, particularly with state transportation projects.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software such as Synchro/SimTraffic and MicroStation.
- Strong technical writing skills for report preparation.
- Familiarity with industry standards including MUTCD and AASHTO.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Clean driving record is essential.
