Position Overview:

The Diet Clerk plays a vital role in executing a range of specialized clerical tasks and coordinating diet office operations associated with patient meal assembly. This position operates under the guidance of designated leadership, ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively in departmental functions and uphold the mission and values of East Los Angeles Doctor Hospital.
  • Exhibit professionalism in patient interactions, adhering to AIDET standards (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you).

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a healthcare nutrition services environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and patient requirements.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding medical terminology.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities, commitment to service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and familiarity with computer systems.
  • Capacity to learn quickly, synthesize information, make informed decisions, and work autonomously while prioritizing patient and family needs.

Certifications:

  • Serv-safe or food handler's certification is mandatory.
