Job Summary

As a Medical Laboratory Technician at Phoebe Physicians, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory information to support patient care. Your expertise will be essential in correlating and interpreting test data to detect evidence of disease or impairment and promote good health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analytical tests on human body substances and correlate test data to provide accurate laboratory information.
  • Monitor quality assurance and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including documentation.
  • Follow established guidelines and protocols to provide requested clinical information to healthcare personnel.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as needed and may orient and train new employees.
Requirements
  • 2-year Associate Degree in Medical Technology or meet CLIA minimum qualifications for high complexity testing personnel.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience required if degree is not in Medical Technology.
  • Certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB, or other agencies approved by the hiring department.
Working Conditions

Work in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.

Physical Requirements
  • Near normal vision, clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
