Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Actuary to lead our cross-line indication efforts within the Small Commercial indications team. As a key member of our Risk Analytics team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cross-line indication files, updating and enhancing PowerBI indication tools and reports, and owning Earthquake rate indications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain cross-line indication files for Small Commercial indications
  • Update, enhance, and expand PowerBI indication tools and reports
  • Own Earthquake rate indications
  • Work on cross-line database enhancements for Liberty Mutual and State Auto
  • Analyze and present findings on cross-line profitability by different dimensions such as industry
  • Work collaboratively with the LOB indication teams and our business partners on cross-line projects
  • Share cross-line findings and files with stakeholders and be their point of contact for questions
  • Identify and drive forward improvements in the cross-line processes, files, and data
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Associateship or Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) designation preferred or comparable education/designation with relevant experience
  • Minimum 4-7 years relevant experience required
  • Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with others within and outside the organization
  • Ability to motivate and mentor peers and motivate and train subordinates
  • Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.) with ability to build complex models
  • Ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization
