Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance on all HVAC applied systems.
- Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, components, or wiring, utilizing intermediate to advanced skills in diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing for CAT I, II, and III systems.
- Perform warranty service applications by independently inspecting and testing systems to confirm operational efficiency for all categories of equipment.
- Ensure the functionality of new equipment and educate clients on proper usage, maintenance schedules, and operating manuals.
- Lead the refurbishment and upgrade of CAT I, II, and III units, guiding Level I and II technicians through practical demonstrations.
- Comply with Daikin and customer safety protocols and OSHA regulations by using personal protective equipment and conducting jobsite hazard assessments.
- Exhibit professionalism in appearance and communication, providing customers with service updates before, during, and after each task. Effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate them to the sales team through the technician tip quote process, including minor repair quotes directly to customers.
- Mentor service technicians at Levels I and II, providing hands-on training on CAT I, II, and III systems.
- Document and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, product quality reports (PQR), and other required documentation.
- Utilize basic data entry skills and navigate email, internet, and word processing software. Download programs into CAT I-II equipment and microcontrollers, analyzing chiller trend data for optimal performance.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the work area at all times.
- May supervise Level I and II service technicians, fulfilling supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Adhere to all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
- Be prepared for potential travel requirements, including overnight stays.
Essential:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
- 5+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- State license or certifications as required by the market.
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification as necessary.
- Previous experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Current first aid/CPR certification and OSHA 10 Certification.
