This position is perfect for enthusiastic, detail-oriented individuals with a knack for mechanical tasks who are eager to collaborate with engineers, geologists, and scientists in the environmental consulting sector.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing project-specific tasks, planning and conducting field operations such as surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil gas, and air sampling, supervising remedial system construction, conducting operations and maintenance of these systems, and providing essential office support.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to multi-task, maintain adaptability, work outdoors, and perform fieldwork both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision, along with a willingness to travel periodically.

1. Plan and execute field operations, including surface water, wastewater, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, and air sampling;
2. Provide oversight for construction activities on environmental remediation projects;
3. Conduct operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems;
4. Assist clients in ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations;
5. Prepare daily and weekly field reports and progress updates;
6. Ensure project documentation aligns with company policies and procedures;
7. Collaborate with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients) to foster an integrated team approach through open communication and participation in work progress meetings;
8. Assist in the preparation of final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices; and
9. Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in site-specific project health and safety plans and the company's Environmental Health and Safety Management policies.
Training Requirements:
This role necessitates OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training, along with medical monitoring, all covered by the firm.
We also provide professional and technical development opportunities, including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, to help our staff enhance the technical and business skills required to excel as consultants.
Fieldwork:
Up to 90%
Overnight Travel:
Up to 50%
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of experience in mechanical equipment and hands-on troubleshooting, or an Associate's degree from a two-year college with the ability to monitor various construction and environmental activities simultaneously. (required)
2. Technical experience in construction services, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering fields. (preferred)
3. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, including survey and topographical plans. (required)
4. Capability to be trained on the operation of standard monitoring and data collection equipment, including but not limited to laptops, handheld computers, water and air quality monitoring meters, Troxler moisture/density gauges, scales, and other equipment. (required)
5. Ability to ensure field activities comply with construction plans and specifications for remediation systems and monitor multiple activities simultaneously. (required)
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic. (required)
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs. (required)
8. Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform calculations in basic geometry and algebra. (required)
9. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and more with assistance or proper engineering controls. (required)
10. Regular fieldwork and overnight travel. (required)
11. Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
12. Ability to communicate effectively, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)
13. A valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
