Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient education plans to promote patient understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical and emotional evaluations, to identify potential barriers to care and develop strategies to address them.
  • Coordinate patient care with external departments, including imaging, laboratory, and multidisciplinary clinics, to ensure timely delivery of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of DE.
  • Two years of nursing experience, with a preference for oncology experience.
  • Advanced nursing degree or certification as an Oncology Nurse (OCN) by the Oncology Nursing Society is preferred.
  • BLS required and active at the time of hire.
