Position Overview
The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) is responsible for providing direct personal care services to residents within our facility, ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and residents' rights during their assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the Resident Assessment and Care Plan for each resident.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene in a timely manner.
- Provide respectful assistance for residents with incontinence needs.
- Administer medications to residents (if certified) in compliance with state regulations and maintain accurate medication records.
- Ensure all resident care documentation is kept current and accurate.
- Stay informed about resident behavior, medication effects, and any changes in health status, reporting any concerns to a supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, including laundry services for residents.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and adhere to the daily schedule.
- Engage residents in individualized activities that promote movement, exercise, and mental stimulation, in line with their care plans.
- Understand and comply with KDADS care regulations and standards.
- Interact professionally with residents, families, and staff.
- Participate in mandatory staff training and meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Monitor the overall condition of the property and report maintenance issues to management.
- Act in the best interest of the organization at all times.
- Adhere to company appearance standards while on duty or representing the organization.
- Become familiar with all company policies and procedures.
Must be currently certified and in good standing as a Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medication Aide by the State of Kansas. Successful completion of orientation and training programs is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects with assistance.
- Capable of bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
